Warm Springs Foot Bridge

Warm Springs Foot Bridge

Location: Boise, at the western end of the Warm Spring Golf Course to Baybrook Court, just off ParkCenter Boulevard.

Interesting points: The pedestrian foot bridge links the greenbelt on either side of the river. It should encourage bicycle commuting by cutting more than 2 miles from a trip, compared to using the Broadway Avenue bridge.

The bridge was plagued by a series of problems including delays in obtaining the steel for the arch and revised permits to work in the Boise River. The contractor had to wait for the end of the irrigation season and lower river flows to put a crane in the river to install the bridge.

Statistics: Opened August, 2000. The graceful arched bridge cost $817,000 to build. It is197 feet long. It is painted "Pilgrim Red." The contractor was Universal Construction Inc. of Emmett.
