Former Idahoan and FRONTLINE Producer Michael Kirk Appears on DIALOGUE

— Airs Thursday, October 9, at 8:30/7:30 p.m. MT/PT
— Repeats Sunday, October 12, at 5:30/4:30 p.m. MT/PT
— See it in HD on Thursday at 9:30/8:30 p.m. MT/PT and Sunday at 8:30/7:30 p.m. MT/PT

FRONTLINE co-founder and producer Michael Kirk discusses his upcoming program “The Choice” with DIALOGUE Host Marcia Franklin, Thursday (October 8) at 8:30/7:30 p.m. MT/PT, on Idaho Public Television.

Kirk talks about producing the show on presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama — highlighting their backgrounds, values and life decisions. For 20 years, FRONTLINE has been profiling the major presidential candidates before the November elections. IdahoPTV presents PBS’ FRONTLINE “The Choice” on Tuesday, October 14, at 9:00 p.m. MT/PT and in high definition (HD) Monday, October 27, at 6:00/5:00 p.m. and 9:00/8:00 p.m. MT/PT.

Kirk, an Idaho native who began his public television career at IdahoPTV KUID-TV in Moscow, also discusses his work on ten documentaries about the war on terror. These include “Bush’s War,” “Cheney’s Law” and “The Torture Question.” The producer of more than 200 national documentaries, Kirk has chronicled the political intrigue behind the decision to go to war with Iraq and the consequences of that decision.

Because Thursday’s DIALOGUE is pre-recorded, there is no call-in segment; the show repeats Sunday, October 12, at 5:30/4:30 p.m. MT/PT.

DIALOGUE is also available on the radio. In Southwest Idaho, it airs on KBSU News 91 at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday and, in Eastern Idaho, on KISU FM at 6:30 p.m. on Monday (September 26).

DIALOGUE, produced by IdahoPTV, is Idaho’s only weekly statewide public affairs program. The program is funded by the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation. Individual DIALOGUE programs are archived on the IdahoPTV Web site at idahoptv.org/dialogue and can be Web streamed for later viewing.
