Mary Cahoon, Outreach and Education Coordinator, Biography

Mary Cahoon joined United Water Idaho in 1989. She has been involved with educating consumers on water conservation and community outreach programs since 1994. Mary was officially promoted to United Water Idaho's position of outreach and education coordinator in 2002. She served as Chair, Vice Chair, and Past Chair of the Pacific Northwest Water Conservation Committee for the American Waterworks Association from 1998 - 2001. She has been involved with the Statewide and Region 3 Water Awareness Week program since 1995. She served as Region 3's Chair when the first water festival was introduced into the Treasure Valley and is currently serving as Co-Chair. Through Mary's efforts United Water has won the following awards:

1996 Pacific Northwest Section Water Works Association Water Conservation Award in the category of Special Achievement in Primary Education
"Hank Horse's Tail of Whoa on Wasting Water" Puppet Show

1996 Pacific Northwest Section Water Works Association Water Conservation Award in the category of Special Achievement in Residential Customer Education
"Indoor and Outdoor Residential Water Audit Program"

1997 Pacific Northwest Section Water Works Association Water Conservation Honorable Mention Award in the category of Secondary Education
