Qualifications: 30 years of age, U.S. Citizen, admitted to the practice of law in Idaho, two year Idaho resident
Term of office: Four years
Salary: $95,160 in 2007, $98,015 in 2008, $100,955 in 2009, $103,984 in 2010
Duties: The Attorney General is Idaho's chief legal officer and is responsible for advising and representing all state officers and agencies in legal matters. The Attorney General issues official written opinions on important legal questions at the request of designated government officials. The Attorney General represents the State of Idaho in all federal and state courts, including all criminal appellate work. In addition to his legal duties, the Attorney General serves as a member of the State Board of Land Commissioners and the State Board of Examiners.
