Powell Ranger Station is now located on the site of their camp of September 14, 1805. They killed a colt to eat that evening. Upriver from Powell, at the mouth if Crooked Fork, is the location of the salmon fishing weirs mentioned in the journals. The map below shows the location of the island they mentioned. All services can be obtained at Lochsa Lodge, 1/4 mile west of Powell R. S.
