Theater Talk  "The Lyrics of Johnny Mercer: "One for My Baby And One More for the Road""  Theater historians Barry Day and Robert Kimball discuss The Complete Lyrics of Johnny Mercer, their comprehensive collection of the acclaimed lyricist's over 1200 works. Also on the show, popular cabaret singers Anna Bergman and Steve Ross perform of some of Mercer's best-known works, including "Too Marvelous for Words," "Moon River," and "Hooray for Hollywood. [P]

Science In Focus: Force and Motion  "The Lure of Magnetism"  What is the difference between a permanent magnet and an electromagnet? In this workshop, fourth-grade students build an electromagnet by winding a wire around a rivet and attaching the ends to battery terminals. The students first predict how many washers they can pick up with the help of their electromagnet and then perform the experiment to test their predictions. After the number of washers is recorded and the results are discussed, the students engage in a group discussion about practical uses for electromagnets. [G]

They have a full plate of activities lined up: lunch with the world's most famous chef, an architectural tour of modern Madrid with a few palaces and some history thrown in, a quick appearance at a Real Madrid soccer match, madrileno nightlife and cocido madrileno, a delectable hangover cure. Niki exchanges her violin bow for a baton to conduct the Blue Danube with a virtual orchestra in the House of Music. [P]

Garden Smart Rosedown Plantation dates to the 1800's and is located in one of the most historic corridors of South Louisiana. Its garden design has roots in formal gardens of France and Italy, many of the plants were imported from the Orient. [P]

This Old House  "Newton Centre Project, Part 7 of 16"  Landscape contractor Roger Cook welcomes certified arborist Matt Foti to Newton Centre to prune all of the existing hemlock trees on the corner of the house, and along the driveway. Inside, master electrician Allen Gallant installs a bath fan in the new powder room that looks like a recessed light, but it has hidden ventilation capabilities built in. [P]
