- Alciae: plantlike forms that create food energy for themselves and the different life forms within the habitat.
- Aquifer: permeable earth material that contains and carries groundwater.
- Evaporation: the change of liquid water into vapor water.
- Planaria: small meat eating worms found in ponds.
- Pollution: a condition in which some part of the environment is changed so that it is unfit for human, plant or animal use.
- Water Table: the surface below which the ground is saturated with water.
