DISTANCE
INVESTIGATION RECORD SHEET Name: _________________ Date: ________________ Part 1. Constructing
the glider: 2. Turn the paper
over so that the printed fold lines are facing down. 3. Fold in half on
line A so the line is on the inside. 4. Turn the corners back to the outside and crease on the B lines. Repeat for the C folds. 5. Turn glider over. Fold down on the D line so the line is on the outside. 6. Name your glider and put your name and the glider’s name on the glider. Part 2. Directions: Throw quickly and slightly angled up. It is important that your throw is the same for each trial. This should remain constant because we are not experimenting with thrust. You will launch and measure the distances flown three times for each trial. Trial 1. is with no adjustments. You can decide which adjustments to make for the next 2 trials. Don’t forget to throw 3 times for each trial. You can adjust the paper of the glider and/or you can add 1-3 paper clips for weight. Record the distances below. You will calculate the average length of the distances for each trial. Measure the distance flown in meters. Assessment Scoring
