Juvenile Rights to Due Process

due process: all people have the right to be treated fairly in a legal procedure (14th amendment to the U.S. Constitution).

 

After 1967, the Supreme Court ruled that juveniles who are accused of an offense for which they could be sent to an institution would be given the following rights
