Backpackers hike along a trail in Bechler Meadows.

Bechler Meadows

Just a few miles from the Bechler Ranger station hikers and backpackers reach the large open flatlands known as Bechler Meadows. These are some of the largest and most beautiful meadows in Yellowstone National Park.

Backcountry trails wind through these radiant grasslands that border the meandering Bechler River. From the meadows there are also great views of the Teton Range to the southeast.

From Bechler Meadows hikers have to make several stream crossings to access some of the other features of the Cascade Corner, including Bechler Canyon and its waterfalls.
