FRED BLOOD INTERVIEW - SKIING AT HEYBURN STATE PARK

We had just old wooden skis with just one strap over your instep. And that was all we had, what we used for skis. So we'd ski part way down the hill and then we'd come to where the path was at a right angle or less. We'd kick the skis off and hit the snow bank and roll. And one time I was skiing up here near the top and got started and the snow was fast and I was going too quick and I started out over the edge. I kicked the skis off and rolled and rolled off the trail. And I had snow packed in my shirt, clear solid against my stomach. And that was cold, but I just disrobed right there and got rid of it.
