THE NATURE CONSERVANCY
The Nature Conservancy works only with willing sellers and donors, and protects habitat through purchase gifts, exchanges, conservation easements, management agreements, and other innovative techniques.
The Nature Conservancy first opened an office in Idaho in 1986. As of January, 1999, the Conservancy owns 18 preserves and 30 active project areas throughout Idaho. This non-profit, tax exempt organization pays taxes on all of the parcels it owns in Idaho, with the exception of the Hemingway Preserve in Blaine County.
