The Blue Moon Yurt

The Blue Moon Yurt is a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. Guests ski about a mile into Ponderosa State Park to a yurt lit only by a wood fire, candles and propane lanterns. The Blue Moon crew serves a gourmet four-course dinner that sparks good conversations and an unforgettable experience. Learn more about the Blue Moon Yurt.

Chef Lisa Whisnant shares the recipe for one of her favorite appetizers.

A plate of Seasame Asparagus Spears

Seasame Asparagus Spears
1 bunch, asparagus
Blanch until tender and place in ice water until cooled. Drain

Marinade:
4 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons dark sesame oil
4 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
salt - a pinch at a time, to taste

Mix the first 4 ingredients. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add a pinch of salt, one at a time to taste, and stir until flavors truly blend.

When asparagus is cool, place in a zip-close bag and pour in marinade. Marinate up to 3 hours.
