1st ORDER Take roll  figure the number present/absent  figure the number needed for a majority vote  figure the number needed for a 2/3rds vote Record information on your Journal page 5th ORDER Read Resolutions by number and title and refer to committee Read Memorials by number and title and refer to the 10th Order Record information on your Journal page 6th ORDER Record bills that have been referred out of a committee. The Presiding Officer may say something like, "Senate/House Education reports out SB/HB#____ with a do pass recommendation." After all bills are "reported," they are referred to the 12th order (2nd reading) of business. Record information on your Journal page. 10th ORDER Voting on resolutions requires a 2/3rds roll call vote. Voting on memorials requires a simple majority. Call Roll. Record information on your Journal page. 11th ORDER This is the first reading of bills. You read each bill until the majority leader asks unanimous consent that ALL BILLS by read by number, author (Committee) and title only. Then you do just that. The Presiding Officer will then refer each bill to a committee. Record the committee to which they are referred on your Journal page 12th ORDER This is the second reading of bills. Read bills in their entirety until the majority leaders asks for unanimous consent that ALL BILLS be read by number only. Then your read only the bill number and committee and refer them to the 13th Order. Record the referred bills in the Journal at the 12th order. 13th ORDER This is the third reading of bills. You read the bill completely until the sponsor asks for unanimous consent to dispense with the reading of the bill. After the debate is over, call the role and record the vote in the Journal. 14TH ORDER This is the amending order. The Majority Leader presides. You announce the amendment. The sponsor will move adoption and it will be seconded. There will be a voice vote. When the Presiding Officer announces the result of the vote. Record the vote in the Journal. 15th ORDER Record the adjournment time and date in the Journal
