"Opium Brides"
Current attempts by Afghanistan's government to eradicate opium crops destined for the drug trade are catching young farm girls in the crossfire. Opium farmers have long borrowed money from drug gangs to subsidize their crops. With the eradication program enforced, farmers must repay their debts or give their daughters to drug-traffickers. Afghan journalist Najibullah Qurashi tells the story of families torn apart. G
