Lark Rise to Candleford   A violent storm hits both towns and the arrival of a new teacher with new ways and ideas causes division in the two communities. In Candleford, they disapprove of the books that the new teacher shipped to the Post Office and they disapprove of his radical political views. In Lark Rise however, he sets up evening classes for older boys to continue their education and revives the tradition of a "penny reading" at the school. At the reading, Alf tries to impress Laura.G

Meanwhile Banks is called to the murder scene of a young girl in the center of town. As Annie and Banks compare cases, they discover the two different murders have some disturbing similarities.G
