The Desert Speaks  "Bolivia: Volcanoes, Flamingos, and Salt Lakes"  Ranging in altitude up to 16,500 feet above sea level, the wild, frigid desert of southwestern Bolivia is full of natural treasures. The harsh landscape is dominated by the towering Andean volcanoes and lakes or lagoons, which are actually basins, into which the meager snowmelt drains and cannot escape. These intensely colored, brackish lakes are home to some of the world's hardiest animals, namely three different species of flamingo. D

Elmo and Abby must find an amphibian before the game show's tadpole turns into a frog. Dinosaur Train  "The Call of the Wild Corythosaurus/Triceratops For Lunch"  The Call of the Wild Corythosaurus - The family surprises Mom for her birthday with a trip to a concert given by Cory and her family of Corythosaurus, who play music through the crests on their heads. Triceratops for Lunch - Our Pteranodon family eats lunch with their friend Tank Triceratops and discover that he and his family are all plant-eaters, with great leaf-eating teeth and giant appetites!. D

Super Why!  "The Swiss Family Robinson"  Little Boy Blue is stuck on a little island in Storybrook Pond and can't get back to shore. Super Why and his friends head into the story of The Swiss Family Robinson to meet a family who is just as stranded as Little Boy Blue. They'll need to use what's around them to survive in this do-it-yourself island adventure! Educational Objectives: To learn to think creatively in tricky situations. D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Incredible Journey/Bamboozled"  Incredible Journey - Nick and Sally are playing in their homemade Thingamajigger, when the Cat arrives to take them on a real adventure! Off they go to meet salmon Sam, who is returning to the pool where she hatched so she can lay her eggs. With the help of the Subber-e-blubber, they follow Samantha underwater, upriver on her incredible journey! Bamboozled - Sally needs to find a gift for her stuffed panda, Pammy. Who better to ask than a real panda? The Cat takes them to meet Zhu Zhu, a giant panda who helps the kids to discover all the wonderful things you can do with her favorite food, bamboo. D

Wild Kratts  "Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy"  Aviva miniaturizes Chris and Martin for an underground mission with earthworms, in search of the answer to the mystery "Why do worms come above ground when it rains?" But they have to hurry, as they soon discover that life as a worm is full of dangers at every turn. Science Concept: Wet objects can be changed by heating and cooling. If a worm is left in the hot sun, their skin will dry up and they will die. D

Ucook! with Chef Bob   Living on the coast of South Carolina, Bob loves to make wonderful seafood dishes. For this first meal Chef Bob prepares diver scallops in puff pastry with fennel, orange and saffron sauce scented with chervil. This soft delicate starter is paired with a New Zealand sauvignon Blanc. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Eastern Turkey"  Rick experiences a Mount Ararat sunrise, visits Abraham's 4,000-year-old home town and tours one of the world's biggest dams.G

The Desert Speaks  "Boom and Bust in a Desert Town"  The small town of Quartzsite, Arizona, located just 20 miles east of the Colorado River, has been a rock hound's paradise since the 1960s. These days, this former stagecoach town is also a mecca to well over a million visitors each year, most of whom converge on it in a wave of RV's during the months of January and February. Thousands of vendors of rocks, gems, minerals, fossils and everything else imaginable create one of the world's largest open-air flea markets. D

Outdoor Idaho  "Home on the Range"  The real heyday of the American cowboy has come and gone; but in Idaho, the hard-scrabble hero of so many of our nation's legends can still be found, riding the range on the West's public lands. It seems there will always be a place for cowboys, wherever there are cattle to be rounded up and wild horses to be tamed, and wherever there are people who love the cowboy lifestyle. As cowboy poet Rudy Gonzales reminds us, "People want to be cowboys!"G
