While Sid and Dad are surveying the land, Sid notices a big stump teeming with little creatures! During a special field trip to The Science Center, Sid and his friends discover that there are animal habitats all around us, even in old stumps, and if one habitat is destroyed, all of the other habitats and animals are affected. Filmmaker Fergus Beeley and his camera team locate a nest 130 feet above the jungle floor and risk attack by the adult female to install a nest cam for close-up views of the Harpy family. They follow the chick for a year as he grows to adulthood.G

But, like ninety percent of the Southwest United States' remaining riparian areas, it is now used up and dries out merely halfway to its former confluence with the Colorado River. Revered as sacred by ancient peoples and modern-day indigenous people alike, the history of the Gila River is the story of nearly all, modern desert rivers. D

Dinosaur Train  "Valley of the Stygimolochs/Tiny Loves Fish"  Valley of the Stygimolochs - Buddy wonders if he'll grow horns when he gets older, so Mrs. Pteranodon takes him to visit some dinosaurs called Stygimoloch, who have really impressive horns. Tiny Loves Fish - After Mr. Pteranodon teaches the kids his fishing method, Buddy and Tiny work together as a team to catch fish in the Big Pond. D

Super Why!  "Dr. Dolittle"  Red's adorable new puppy is whimpering and whining and she just doesn't know why! So Super Why, Wonder Red, Alpha Pig and Princess Presto ask the advice of a boy who understands what animals need because he can talk to them! Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "A Plan for Sand/Whale Music"  A Plan for Sand - Nick and Sally are playing in their sandbox, but there's not enough room for them to build their castles. The Cat arrives to take them to the biggest sandbox they'll ever see! In the desert, they meet Carmela the Camel who teaches them about how camels are adapted to live in the dry, sandy climate. Whale Music - Nick and Sally have made a song to sing to their moms, but they can't get the ending quite right. D

Wild Kratts  "Platypus Cafe"  While kayaking in Australia, Martin and Chris encounter one of the world's most unusual creatures, a platypus mother with her eggs. But unscrupulous endangered animal chef, Gourmand, plans on making the platypus eggs his next delicacy. The Wild Kratts team must use the special "sixth sense" of the platypus to save the eggs. D

The Desert Speaks  "Saving Australia's Wild West"  When the Australian Wildlife Conservancy bought over 800,000 acres of a former cattle ranch for biodiversity conservation it created an ecological jewel that now attracts scientists from all over the world. The Desert Speaks heads down under to investigate the area that hopes to prove that aggressive management based on nature can restore the land. Host David Yetman hops on a plane to navigate his way into the former ranch known as Mornington Station. D

Changing Seas  "No Fish Left Uncounted"  How do you count two fish, three fish or even a school of fish? In Dry Tortugas National Park, located 70 miles from Key West, Florida, a group of scientists have joined forces to conduct a massive fish census. In this unprecedented collaboration, experts from four different agencies unite to count and analyze fish data from select sites. Changing Seas follows highly-skilled science divers as they determine the size of fish populations in hopes of better understanding how fishing pressures and environmental changes affect populations of marine resources within the park. Big Cypress Swamp: The Western Everglades   Producer/cinematograher Elam Stoltzfus answered the call of the wild to go deep into the Big Cypress Swamp along with fine-art photographer Clyde Butcher and musician Sammy Tedder. During the journey Elam joined with many other public land managers, local experts, hunters, orchid lovers, artists, and a great many other people. The expedition across the swamp in airboats, hiking, mucking about, aerial, canoes, and swamp buggies gave the HD video crew ample opportunities to capture breathtaking images. D
