Stagestruck: Confessions from Summer Stock   STAGESTRUCK: CONFESSIONS FROM SUMMER STOCK takes a nostalgic look back at the 26-year history of America's first summer stock theater, the Orleans Arena Theatre on Massachusetts' Cape Cod. The one-hour documentary uses dramatic re-enactments, historical photos and engaging interviews with past members to capture the day-to-day challenges and joys of the summer stock experience. Beginning in 1950 and lasting until 1976, temperamental young actors and actresses would live together, work for pennies and do odd jobs in pursuit of refining their craft and creating a professional theatrical production each week. Still on the Road   Twelve actors travel across 28 US cities on a seven month journey to bring classical theater to America. The Acting Company, a classical touring ensemble founded by John Houseman and Margot Harley, started with members of the first graduating class of the drama division of the Julliard School. Kevin Kline recalls Houseman's motivation being, "We couldn't just let them go out there and do garbage. D

Survival: Lives in the Balance  "The Plant That Cures Malaria (Uganda)"  Too late to save his daughter, who died from contracting malaria, Clovis learns that the Artemisia plant can be cultivated on his farm in Uganda. A chemical extracted from Artemisia is the main ingredient of a drug that can cure malaria in the early stages of the disease. Clovis organizes other farmers into a cooperative to grow the plant only to run into a new company policy that may stand in the way of their efforts.G

Outdoor enthusiasts play amid unique formations - they ski on sand dunes, kayak through canyons, raft over waterfalls, climb rocky outcroppings, and dive into fossil water. The special includes videos of geologic events and examples gathered over decades.G
