Chef's Life  "Collard Green Queen"  Vivian spends the morning with her neighbors, the Mills brothers, participating in their 100-year-old all-male family tradition of making collard kraut. Vivian visits Warren at Brother's farm to talk about the Eastern Carolina ingredient with a cult following, the cabbage collard. Vivian prepares for an event called Terra Vita, where she will serve three courses to 100 people and make collards the star they deserve to be. D

Katie Brown Workshop  "Gifts Galore"  Katie shows why it is better (and more fun) to give than to receive with creative and easy ideas for designer breadsticks and irresistible pretzels, and projects like dressed-up store-bought gifts and a gift box topiary. D

Paint This with Jerry Yarnell  "A Bluebird's Paradise, Part 2"  Jerry begins painting in the connecting limb with a #2 bristle brush making sure to achieve tapered limbs and to create soft edges. Trees are highlighted, the birdhouse is blocked in, along with the roof and supporting post. Blocking in the under painting with proper value is necessary to provide the color to allow the highlighted color to fully show the form of the trees, the bark of the tree limb and the rough texture of the birdhouse wood. D

Windows are an interesting part of the home that are decorated with textiles, but can also be adorned with photos, crystals and banners. Learn how to think of this space as a decorative element of the home. D

Trains Around North America   Hosted by Grammy-winning musician and storyteller David Holt, this special traces America's railroad history, telling stories of the continent's historic and scenic tourist railroads as they define the spirit of North America. Stops include a railway museum in Minnesota, and the White Pass and Yukon Railroad of Skagway, Alaska. Robert C. Van Camp, who produces and films these railway-themed shows, will be live in the studio during program breaks.G
