The Desert Speaks  "Shadows of the Ancients"  Observational astronomy has deep roots in the Puebloan world of the Desert Southwest. Archaeological evidence suggests that the ancestral Pueblo Indians (Anasazi) marked astronomical events, perhaps as guides or records of their agricultural and ceremonial calendar. Rock art and architecture throughout the Four Corners area were carefully placed so that beams of sunlight would interact with rock images on important seasonal days such as equinoxes and solstices, marking the days with remarkably high precision. Together they cook on the fly using surprise ingredients and Ming's East-West pantry to create: Pan Seared Steak, Beet Salad and Hash Browns and Pork Chop, Kimchee-Kale Pan Sauce and Sweet Potato Cake. Austin City Limits  "Rosanne Cash/Brandi Carlile"  Cash is backed up by a full band with her husband, John Leventhal, on lead guitar. Most of her songs are from her album, The List, that draws on the 100 songs her father, Johnny Cash, described as essential country songs. Carlile blows the roof off with her big voice and exciting music.G

Sesame Street  "Porridge Art"  Baby Bear is excited to learn that his favorite porridge brand "Quaker Porridge" is holding a Porridge Art Contest, where contestants create edible art of the Quaker Duck Man that's made of porridge. Alan mixes up a batch of porridge, Baby Bear runs off to get is art supplies, and Telly volunteers to pose as the Quaker Duck Man. First, Baby Bear gets inspiration to paint with porridge, but when the picture is placed upright on the easel, the mushy porridge slides right off the canvas. D

Dinosaur Train  "The Old Bird/Diamond Don"  The Old Bird - Buddy, Tiny and Mom make a play date with Petey Peteinosaurus to ride the Dinosaur Train to meet Arlene Archeopteryx, a bird from the family of the oldest birds ever! The kids are excited to learn that Arlene is a bird and a dinosaur. Home With Shiny & Don - Shiny and Don stay at home and we get to see that just because they don't always ride with Buddy and Tiny on the Dinosaur Train doesn't mean that they are not having fun. An adventure into a local caves leads to a marvelous and brilliant discovery. D

Super Why!  "The Ugly Duckling"  Princess Pea's twirls are falling flat, and her dance recital is fast approaching! The Super Readers soar into the story of the Ugly Duckling, who's having just as much trouble trying to swim! With a little hard work, the Ugly Duckling hits his stride, and Princess Pea learns that practice makes perfect!G

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "The Surprising Bean/Hear Here"  The Surprising Bean - Nick keeps trying to surprise Sally, but he just can't do it! The Cat takes them to find a real surprise in the Skippylarito Fields! Once there, Cat shows them a special bean - that suddenly moves! With a shrunken Thingamajigger, they go inside the bean and meet the moth larvae that lives there. They learn that it's really the moth that causes the bean to move. What a neat surprise indeed! Hear Here - The kids hear chirping but can't find where it's coming from. D

Wild Kratts  "Masked Bandits"  As they prepare for a creature costume party, the Wild Kratts team begins to notice all sorts of strange things happening in the Tortuga HQ. Jimmy is sure there is a ghost or monster living with them, but the Kratt brothers are convinced it's some kind of creature. When the gang sets out to discover who is causing all the trouble, they discover that certain animals gravitate towards human habitation because it provides food and protection from predators. D

Sara's Weeknight Meals  "Breakfast for Dinner"  Turn the day upside down with easy egg-based meals like Indian Scrambled Eggs, infused with exotic flavors on a crispy platform of pappadam. How about a savory BLT and Egg Pie, a fun take on the lunchtime classic with an easy crust for the pastry impaired? And if you have lots of leftover vegetables, the French classic Souffled Omelet is a spectacular solution. When there's no time to cook, reach for the eggs!. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Siena and Assisi: Italy's Grand Hill Towns"  Rick tours the innovative medieval hospital in Siena and a bakery that makes panforte. He explores the Chianti region and spends a night at a farmhouse where he learns about the Slow Food Movement before following the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi.G
