This prize-winning film re-enacts the unusual story of Joe Hutto, who for nearly two years became the mother of a group of Florida wild turkeys he imprinted as hatchlings at his home adjacent to Florida wildlands. Taken from Hutto's 1995 book, Illuminations in the Flatlands, which was written from his daily notations, the film is set in the same wildlands. Hutto is portrayed by wildlife photographer Jeff Palmer.G
