Outdoor Idaho  "Trip to the Moon"  One early traveler called it the strangest 75 square miles in North America. Characterized by one of the only continental hot spots in the world, Craters of the Moon encompasses three quarters of a million acres of lava flows, sagebrush, rolling hills... and a few surprises. Part of it is managed by the National Park Service, as a national monument. And it may be as close as any of us will ever come to a trip to the moon.G

He goes on a Tombstone pilgrimage at P?re Lachaise Cemetery, and then savors the Parisian caf? scene.G

Smart Travels - Pacific Rim With Rudy Maxa  "Queensland, Australia"  Sun-washed beaches, chic beachside towns, cliffs and rainforests and one of the seven natural wonders of the world, The Great Barrier Reef, Queensland is the ultimate outdoor adventure. We begin north of Brisbane along the sunshine coast, exploring sand dune covered islands, coastal towns and parks. Then we fly north to Cairns, the gateway to the coral, multicolored sea life and azure waters of the Great Barrier Reef. D

The Desert Speaks  "Giants on a Galapagos Island"  This program visits one of the few inhabited islands in the Galapagos. Host David Yetman and ecologist Yar Petryszyn explore the people and culture of the island of Santa Cruz with a stroll through the market at Puerto Ayora. Then it's off to visit the Darwin Research Station and its famous saddle back tortoises, which are being reintroduced to the area after being hunted close to extinction. D

Kevin Dundon's Modern Irish Food  "Modern Eats to Traditional Treats"  Kevin starts with a lobster dish served with a mustard cream sauce and seared fillet of beef and blue cheese salad. Taste of History  "The Washingtons at Mount Vernon, Part 1"  When George Washington wasn't busy governing a fledgling nation, he enjoyed spending time at his family plantation, Mount Vernon. Tour the "Jewel of the Potomac" and join Chef Walter Staib in Washington's very own kitchen as he prepares some of the first President's favorite dishes such as Roasted Beef Marrow, Baked Stuffed Sturgeon, Roasted Root Vegetables and Citrus Vinaigrette. Simply Ming  "Todd English & Quick Pan Sauce"  On this episode of Simply Ming, we look at the key to infusing (sometimes boring) pasta noodles with maximum flavor. Pasta master Todd English whips up a creative quick pan sauce with lobster. D

Sesame Street  "Judy & The Beast"  Judy needs to find the perfect, unique beast for her story. She tries out many, but finds that a horse is just right for the job. Educational Objective: Self-Regulation. D

Dinosaur Train  "An Apatosaurus Adventure/Nature Art"  The Pteranodon kids visit the Jurassic Time Period to meet Apollo Apatosaurus, a huge, long-necked, long-tailed dinosaur who likes adventure. Apollo loves to whip his long tail, and does so as he leads the kids on a pretend adventure to find a hard-to-reach tree with yummy, delicious leaves! Mrs. Pteranodon cleans out the clutter from the family nest and the kids are amazed at the pile of stuff - leaves, flower petals, pieces of wood, and shells. Tiny stops Mom from throwing out all the stuff, determined that she and Buddy, Tiny, and Don will find a use for it all. D

Peg + Cat  "The Messy Room Problem/The Golden Pyramid Problem"  The Messy Room Problem - Peg's Room. Peg and Cat sort through the mess in Peg's room just in time for company to come over and see Cat's masterpiece, "The Circles." Primary Content: Sorting; Secondary Content: Shapes. D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Meet The Beetles/Tongue Tied"  Meet the Beetles - Nick and Sally must protect their cookie jar from cookie snatchers! But how? Well by meeting three of the Cat's beetle friends, that's how! Stan the Giant Stag beetle shows them how to look scary, while Cliff the Click beetle teaches them to make a noise them jump! And Bobbi the Bombardier beetle has a stinky surprise for those that try to sneak up on her. Now Nick and Sally can keep their cookies safe! Tongue Tied - Mmm, there's nothing better than a blueberry popsicle, even though it makes your tongue blue! Speaking of tongues, the Cat has some friends with marvelous tongues! The kids meet Treetop Tom and see how his tough tongue can pick food off of thorny branches. Then Snifty the boa snake shows them how she uses her tongue to smell. D

WordGirl  "Who Wants To Get Rid Of Wordgirl?/The Talented Mr. Birg"  WHO WANTS TO GET RID OF WORDGIRL? - Seymour Smooth has brought some of WordGirl's biggest villain enemies together to play a game of, Who Wants to Get Rid of WordGirl? Will his strategy of using them to ultimately defeat WordGirl work? Or will he find himself outsmarted by our hero? Vocabulary Words: Strategy, Giddy. THE TALENTED Mr. BIRG - When Scoops writes an article about all the times WordGirl has been tricked and captured by villains, she goes off to prove him wrong. And when someone who looks just like Mr. Big claims to be a Mr. Birg, WordGirl is convinced he's lying, and refuses to be tricked again. D

Science Trek  "Simple Machines"  Simple machines include the lever, the inclined plane, the wedge, the pulley, the wheel and axle, and the screw. Combine these simple machines and you can create almost anything that makes work easier. Host Joan Cartan-Hansen is joined by John Gardner and Kathryn Devine. Woody Sobey of the Discovery Center of Boise will also do a special demonstration of simple machines.G

Rick Steves' Europe  "Sevilla"  In the flamboyant city of Carmen and Don Juan, Rick finds that bullfighting is still politically correct and little girls dream of growing up to become flamenco dancers.
