Ciao Italia  "Thanks, Mom - Grazie, Mama"  Mary Ann receives a prestigious award honoring her as an Italian American food educator. She goes nella cucina to make "Mom's Sponge Cake" as her way of honoring the people in her life who helped make this award possible: her late mother who inspired her to cook, and the Ciao Italia culinary supervisors who support her in her television kitchen. D

Cook's Country from America's Test Kitchen  "The Chemistry of Cakes"  Bridget Lancaster shows host Christopher Kimball how to make a perfect lemon Pudding cake with a custardy filling. next, equipment expert Adam Reid is reviewing hand mixers. then, Erin McMurrer reveals the seven steps to making foolproof angel Food cake at home, and finally, Adam uncovers the test kitchen's pick for a tube pan. D

8:00 pm 
Baking with Julia   Mary Bergin of Las Vegas, Nevada, head pastry chef for Wolfgang Puck' s Spago Restaurant, demonstrates how to make a vanilla chiffon cake with a twist -- a full vanilla flavor and a thin, flexible shape, ideal for rolling with chocolate-laced walnut mousse. D

8:30 pm 
Bake Decorate Celebrate!  "Fantasy"  Be inspired by fantasy masterpiece cakes. The first cake demonstrated is a tiered cake representing a city scape that can be adapted for any home town. Next, is a 3D dragon cake for the young and young at heart. D

9:00 pm 
Baking with Julia   Martha Stewart, a magazine editor, star of her own television show and author of the popluar "Weddings" book joins Julia to bake one grand and glorious three-tiered wedding cake. Martha prepares the batter and bakes each layer in graduated diamond-shaped cake forMs. While the cake bakes, and then chills, Martha creates a variety of delicately realistic and delicious marzipan fruits, right down to the little stems and leaves. She also makes and chills enough vanilla rum buttercream to ice the entire cake. D

9:30 pm 
Baking with Julia   Guest Martha Stewart returns to complete her three-tiered wedding cake decorated with yellow buttercreme icing and handmade marzipan fruit in this episode of BAKING WITH JULIA. In this second of a two-part episode, Stewart puts together the individual cakes that serve as the building blocks of this dessert, inserting a baked crunchy almond and egg white wafer and apricot jam between individual layers and decorating with the icing and candy fruit garnish. D

10:00 pm 
America's Test Kitchen from Cook's Illustrated  "Coconut Layer Cake"  Host Christopher Kimball reveals the test kitchen tips for foolproof cake baking. Then, test cook Bridget Lancaster shows Kimball how to make the ultimate coconut layer cake. And finally, tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Kimball to a tasting of premium butter. D

New Jewish Cuisine with Jeff Nathan and Friends  "Cakes to Die For"  Chef Jeffrey Nathan tantalizes his friends with his mouthwatering cakes, including his secret recipe babka and a strawberries and cream sponge cake. D

Social Studies In Action: A Teaching Practices Library, K-12  "Public Opinion and the Vietnam War"  Liz Morrison is a ninth–grade American history teacher at Parkway South High School in suburban St. Louis, Missouri. In a lesson on the Vietnam War, Ms. Morrison explores how public opinion was shaped by key events. D

11:30 pm 
Social Studies In Action: A Teaching Practices Library, K-12  "Migration from Latin America"  Mavis Weir teaches 10th–grade history at Casa Grande High School in Petaluma, California. In this lesson, students explore the various reasons people emigrate from their homeland. The class is broken up into six separate groups, each representing a different Latin American country with its own set of resources. D
