Burt Bacharach & Hal David: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize For Popular Song In Performance At The White House
Hal David, 90, and Burt Bacharach, 83, first begin collaborating in the 1950s in New York's storied Brill Building. In the 1960s and 1970s they are almost as well-known as the singers for whom they wrote. The Multiple Grammy- and Academy-Award-winning songwriters now join the ranks of Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney as recipients of the fourth Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The all-star tribute was taped May 9 at the White House.
