Engaging with Literature: A Workshop for Teachers, Grades 3-5  "Workshop 8. Reacting to Students"  In this session, you will see various ways to evaluate students, use that information to influence strategies, and communicate expectations to students and families. This session also addresses high-stakes assessments, deciding when to assess and when to evaluate, and suggestions for helping students assess their own work and the work of their peers. D

Teaching Channel Presents  "Making Math & History Come Alive"  We'll spend the hour in seven classrooms as teachers make math and history come alive while aligning their lessons to the Common Core. We'll visit student-focused math classes and then see students explore ancient civilizations, the French Revolution, and the American Declaration of Independence. D

Making Meaning In Literature: A Workshop for Teachers, Grades 6-8  "Workshop 3. Going Further In Discussion"  Since discussion is so central to the growth and development of a literary community, this program also concentrates on this activity. The teachers talk about ways to recognize good discussion, adding personal anecdotes about ways in which they participate in or step out at various points in the discussion to help students go further in their understandings of the text. The group also looks at different stimuli they use to provoke and maintain good discussions in their classrooMs. These principles are illustrated by classroom footage showing rich and involved student discussion. D

The film reveals information on risk factors, symptoms and prevention of heart disease, while exploring the emotional impact of the No.1 killer of women in the United States.G

Tommy Makem's Ireland   Acclaimed Irish folksinger Tommy Makem transports viewers on an armchair tour of his favorite places in Ireland in TOMMY MAKEM'S IRELAND. These eclectic and engaging programs, taped on location, travel throughout Makem's native land - from its craggy northern shores to the historic capital. Makem, one of Ireland's favorite sons, visits pubs, churches, castles and cliffs from Dublin and Connemarra to Belfast and the Dingle Peninsula. D

Burt Wolf: Travels & Traditions  "The Lands of St. Patrick, Ireland"  During the 5th century, Saint Patrick arrived in Ireland and changed the course of the nation's history. Burt Wolf investigates the real story of Patrick's life, visits Patrick's original church, treks to the mystic pilgrimage sites of Lough Derg and Croagh Patrick and explores the reasons why St. Patrick became the patron saint of the Irish. D

Crosby, Stills & Nash 2012   This special is drawn from the group's live concerts during their 2012 tour, which included Idaho. The recordings also resulted in CSN 2012, their 18th album and the first release on the group's original label in 18 years. Most of the songs in the program were also written by one or more of the threesome, made up of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, who have been collaborating since 1969.G

Rick Steves' Europe  "South Ireland: Waterford to the Ring of Kerry"  As Rick travels the southern coast, he visits Waterford's crystal factory, the Kennedy family homestead, the Dunbrody famine ship, and Kinsale's star-shaped fortresses. Then he drives the Ring of Kerry.G
