Volunteers decorate Locomotive Park for Christmas, stringing lights and ornaments. The annual project gives the kids a chance to spread holiday spirit. Way to Zoom Into Action, volunteers!
Club members build an outdoor classroom to teach about native plants. With the help of an Americorps volunteer, the kids plant Idaho fescue and blue bunch wheat grass. Good job, Adventure Club!
Moscow Boy Scouts create books for use in kindergarten classes. The books feature high-frequency words, numbers, shapes and symbols. Teachers use them in classroom activities. The teachers and students are grateful for the troop’s help.
Students host bake sale to raise funds for Heifer International, a program to buy livestock for families in Third World nations. The annual event brings in $83 this year. Congratulations, St. Mary’s second-graders!
Choir members give a performance at Good Samaritan Retirement Village. The choir mixes music with dramatic interludes to provide an inspirational performance. Students hope that more kids will Zoom Into Action for similar activities.
St. Mary’s students hit the streets to clean up trash. The annual event aims to keep Moscow clean and litter-free. Thanks for your help, kids!
Ms. Smith’s fourth-grade class at Lena Whitmore Elementary School raise Chinook salmon as part of a wildlife preservation project. The students work with Idaho Fish and Game to raise the fish and learn about the environment. Great job, class!
Students put together a donation box for children in Ecuador. The box has crayons, markers and other supplies, as well as a special picture project. The students hope the kids in Ecuador enjoy the donations.
Ms. Thompson’s second-grade class at Discovery Elementary School create a supplies box for Idaho National Guard units in Iraq. The students write letters and cards, draw pictures and send supplies. Thanks for your help, class!
