Welfare Reform

Joan Cartan-Hansen and her guests discuss recently changes to Idaho's welfare system that will go into effect on July 1, 1997. Some of the changes that will be implemented include: cash assistance will be limited to $278 a month, parents receiving aid must be working or attending job training classes, all children under 18 must be enrolled in school even if they are a teen parent and paternity must be established within a year or assistance will be reduced by half.
