U.S. Foreign Policy

Every few months, it seems a new global "hotspot" surfaces in the news. Recent conflicts in Rwanda, Bosnia and East Timor have forced decisions about potential American involvement in other countries’ affairs. Guest Phyllis Oakley, a career Foreign Service Officer, was the first woman to be the spokesman for the State Department. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and holds a Master’s Degree from the Fletcher School of International Law.
