Social Studies In Action: A Methodology Workshop, K-5  "Workshop 2. Teaching for Understanding"  How do we plan for learning? This session focuses on the Teaching for Understanding model, a framework for unit planning developed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The onscreen teachers use the framework to analyze unit planning in classroom videos, plan for their own social studies units, and create a pictorial timeline of U.S. history that outlines an entire year of learning. D

Hands On Crafts for Kids  "Keep In Touch"  Don't you love getting mail - real letters and cards in your mailbox and not just email to your phone or computer? This episode is creating cards to make any occasion special. First is a giant team card for everyone to sign. Then, cards for all occasions; whatever the date, whoever it's for, and whatever the sentiment -we have a card - Mother's day, Father's Day, lucky days, and summer time. D

With over 600 castles, Wales is alive with medieval culture. The kids get a feel for it as they learn to fly Harris Hawks at thWelsh Hawking Center. D

Then, Richard, along with landscape contractor Roger Cook, host Kevin O'Connor and general contractor Tom Silva, asks, "What Is It?" Afterward, Tom shares a viewer tip about driving eye screws. Taped the day after the show's Broadway gala opening in April, our guests are librettist Dennis Kelly, composer/lyricist Tim Minchin and actor Bertie Carvel, who plays the terrifying Ms. Trunchbull. All three are TONY nominees for their contributions to this show. D
