Indelible Lalita   Indelible Lalita tells the story of a beautiful woman whose resilient spirit survives her body's transformation by cancer, heart failure, and a dramatic loss of skin pigment. Meditatively flowing between surface and interior, the film follows Lalita as she migrates from Bombay to Paris to Montreal, and becomes completely White along the way. Lalita learns to let go of her body as the sign of her ethnicity and femininity, and ultimately realizes that her body is just a temporary vessel for her spirit. D

America ReFramed  "West 47th Street"  Mental illness is a topic rife with stereotypes and misunderstanding. Made with depth and compassion, West 47th Street is an intimate cinema verite portrait of four people struggling to recover from serious mental illness. They've all come to Fountain House, a renowned rehabilitation center in New York City's Hell's Kitchen. D

8:00 pm 
Global Voices  "Daughter from Danang/Balikbayan"  "Daughter from Danang" tells the story of a Vietnamese mother and her Amerasian daughter who are joyously reunited after 22 years -- but whose illusions are quickly shattered as the reality of cultural differences and years of separation sets in. In "Balikbayan," a migrant worker sends her mother back home bringing a taste of a 'better life' at all cost. This is one of the absurd but practical realities of mixing consumerism along with tradition in a developing nation. D

Dialogue  "Samuel Hunter"  Host Marcia Franklin talks with Moscow native playwright Samuel Hunter about his works and the influence of Idaho in his plays. Hunter, who was in Boise recently to help direct one of his plays, is the recipient of a 2011 Obie Award, the equivalent of a Tony Award for off-Broadway productions, for his play A Bright New Boise.G
