The Rise and Fall of Penn Station: American Experience   In 1910, the Pennsylvania Railroad accomplished the enormous engineering feat of building tunnels under New York City's Hudson and East rivers. The tunnels terminated in what was one of the greatest architectural achievements of its time, Pennsylvania Station. Inspired by the Roman baths of Caracalla, Penn Station covered nearly 8 acres and housed one of the largest public spaces in the world, only to be torn down a few decades later. This film examines some of the reasons behind the station's demise.G
