Jason Russell serves as Idaho Public Television’s Corporate and Community Partnerships Manager, working with organizations whose support makes IdahoPTV’s educational, cultural, and public-service programming possible. His focus is building strong, values-aligned partnerships and ensuring supporters are thoughtfully recognized across broadcast, digital, and limited print platforms.
Jason is a third-generation Idahoan and has deep roots across the state. While his early childhood included time out of state, Idaho has always been home, and the place where his family, values, and community connections are firmly planted.
After more than 25 years in advertising and broadcast sales, Jason was drawn to Idaho Public Television for its clarity of purpose. “I wanted my work to align with something that genuinely serves the public,” he says. “IdahoPTV allows organizations to support meaningful stories without selling directly. That integrity matters, to our audience, to our partners, and to me.”
As a parent, Jason has long trusted PBS Kids as a safe, thoughtful space for children. “It’s the only platform my kids have ever had unrestricted access to,” he says. “I know the stories they’re consuming are positive and age appropriate.”
Outside of work, Jason spends most of his time with his family, often traveling to or from hockey rinks supporting both his kids and their love of hockey, or on the water. An avid sailor, he sails locally at Lucky Peak and in McCall, which he considers one of his favorite places in the state along with the Sawtooth Mountains. He also enjoys fly-fishing, travel, and reading. A fun fact: he’s a fan of salty-sweet snacks (including bacon ice cream), and his favorite PBS character growing up was Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street.
