We thought our readers/viewers might like to learn about some of the folks that work at IdahoPTV. Because there are so many people who work behind the scenes, you may have seen some of them, or maybe only heard about them. Today we would like to introduce Idaho Reports Director Troy Shreve.
IdahoPTV’s Carol Beres spoke withTroy about growing up in Idaho and his experiences with Idaho Public Television.
Are you an Idaho native?
I was born and grew up in Caldwell. I went to school at Boise State, and now I live in Boise.
Did you go to Boise State for the blue turf?
No, I had a friend who was planning on going there, and we were both interested in film, so I followed him there.
Did you major in film?
Actually, I have an art degree with a minor in communications. My favorite medium, besides video, is throwing clay on the wheel. These days, I just do video though.
Was Idaho Public Television your first job out of school?
No, I worked at a couple of places before landing here.
Do you have a drone pilot’s license?
Yes, I was the first one at the station to get it. We use it for all kinds of shows, such as Outdoor Idaho.
Favorite snack?
Chips and salsa.
What’s an exciting story about working at Idaho PTV you’d like to share?
With Outdoor Idaho, I’ve been to the tallest point in the state (Mt. Borah) and the lowest point in the state (a cave)!
What makes “Idaho Reports” an important part of Idaho Public Television’s lineup?
Idaho Reports gives everyone access to the Statehouse’s inner workings. It digs down into how it really affects people and goes more in-depth than other news outlets in the area.
