As part of our March Festival programming, we're devoting an evening of programming to four Idaho artists on Sunday, March 8.
The night kicks off at 6 p.m. with “SARA: A Life in Dreams and Symbols,” an award-winning createid documentary about Idahoan Sara Joyce (1923-2011), who excelled in several art mediums, including fabric art, ceramics and painting. The program was the recipient of both a regional Emmy® Award and special recognition from the national Daytime Emmy® Awards in 2025.
It will be followed at 7 p.m. by createid pieces about two Moscow, Idaho, artists: ceramicist Marilyn Lysohir, who is known for her large-scale installations, and wood turner Jim Christiansen, whose intricately detailed wood pieces often look like metal.
The night of programming will conclude at 7:30 p.m. with “Lifting Legacies: Benjamin Victor” a createid documentary about the internationally known Boise sculptor, who has more of his statues in the United States Statuary Hall collection than any other living artist.
“I’m delighted we’re able to feature some of the many talented artists in the Gem State,” says Marcia Franklin, who produced and wrote all the programs.
