Join us Tuesday, November 4, 6-8 pm at the Shoshone Bannock Hotel in Fort Hall, Idaho, for a community viewing event for the new Idaho-themed episode of the popular PBS KIDS series Molly of Denali: “Molly of Idaho/Cinder Cones and Broken Drones.” Enjoy concessions, take photos, play Molly of Denali-themed games and activities, and join a Q&A with tribal representatives. Fun for the whole family!
The special episode takes place in Idaho's Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve and features two stories with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.
Molly and friends visit the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, learning about the Indian Relay Race, exploring a maze of lava tubes, and hearing the Shoshone-Bannock story about Doe'gwo'ah, the Big Snake responsible for creating the Craters of the Moon lava fields.
The episode also profiles a 12-year-old Shoshone-Bannock cowboy from Fort Hall who introduces viewers to his rodeo events.
“Molly of Idaho/Cinder Cones and Broken Drones” airs Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Idaho Public Television and will stream online.
The Molly of Denali children’s series premiered on PBS in 2019 and was developed through a Ready to Learn grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). With the elimination of federal funding in 2025, and the closure of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the future of some popular PBS KIDS series remains uncertain.
