Teater’s Knoll: An Architectural Gem, a new episode of Idaho Public Television’s original series Idaho Experience, examines the life and art of Archie Teater who, along with his wife, Patricia, engaged the country’s premier architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, to design an artist’s studio in the Hagerman Valley. Kent Hale, a mason from Oakley, Idaho, possessed the stone and the skills to fulfill Wright’s design. Thanks to preservationist Henry Whiting, who has spent decades restoring the studio, it still stands as an example of architectural mastery.
“Teater’s Knoll truly embraces the human spirit and our relationship to nature,” says writer, producer, director and editor Andy Lawless. “I loved exploring those elements that celebrate the natural world through art and architecture.”
Teater’s Knoll: An Architectural Gem airs Thursday, Sept. 11, at 8:30 PM and again Sunday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 PM on Idaho Public Television. It will be available for streaming beginning Sept. 11 on the PBS app or online at video.idahoptv.org.
