Tune in during our annual fundraiser Festival (March 5-15) and enjoy new musical performances, documentary specials, behind-the-scenes content from popular PBS series, and national and local programs—including new episodes of our locally produced original series Idaho Experience and Outdoor Idaho.
"Sacajawea of the Salmon River Valley" on Idaho Experience
“Sacajawea of the Salmon River Valley” explores the history of Sacajawea through the eyes of Shoshone-Bannock tribal members. Randy’L Teton, who modeled for the U.S. Sacajawea dollar coin, guides viewers to historic places in the region while sharing stories of Sacajawea’s positive impact on the success of the Corps of Discovery (Lewis and Clark Expedition) as it traveled the West. This episode of Idaho Experience airs Thursday, March 5, at 7 p.m. and again Sunday, March 15, at 6 p.m.
"Rooted Outdoors" on Outdoor Idaho
Across Idaho, people form deep connections to the outdoors through tradition, work and ritual. "Rooted Outside" is a magazine-style collection of stories that explore those relationships from multiple perspectives. This wide-ranging special tells the stories of riders retracing the historic Chief Joseph Trail in honor of the Nez Perce journey of 1877, examines how wildfire response is coordinated nationwide from Boise’s National Interagency Fire Center, spends quiet mornings along the Boise River with a man using cold water to build mental and physical resilience, and more. Together, these stories reflect how history, stewardship, and well-being are shaped by Idaho’s iconic outdoors. This Outdoor Idaho special airs Thursday, March 5, at 9 p.m. and again Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m.
Viewer contributions during our annual on-air fundraisers are vital for us to continue producing local shows that tell Idaho's stories—along with acquiring the latest PBS programs and providing educational resources for children, parents and schools throughout Idaho. Thank you for your support!
