History takes center stage in Boise to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary during a live simulcast of the Idaho 4th of July Parade followed by coverage of the family-friendly Capitol Celebration concert in Cecil Andrus Park. This celebration, coordinated by the America250 in Idaho Advisory Council, includes live performances by some of Idaho’s best musical acts, including Josh Ritter, Afrosonics, Jeff Crosby, Chad Marvin & EllieMae, and the 25th Army Band.

Idaho Public Television's simulcast of the 4th of July Parade begins at 10 a.m. Coverage of the Capitol Celebration concert begins around 11 a.m. or immediately following the parade.

Families in the Boise area are invited to attend both events in person. The celebration begins with a community breakfast at 7:00 a.m. in Cecil Andrus Park in front of the Idaho State Capitol. The breakfast benefits the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance and its programs supporting veterans. At 9:00 a.m. the Zamzows Patriotic Pet Party takes place, followed by the Idaho 4th of July Parade at 10:00 a.m. The concert begins at approximately 11:30 a.m. in Cecil Andrus Park and is scheduled to continue through 3:00 p.m. Throughout the celebration, the park will have activities for kids, viewing of the morning's parade floats, and more.

"This event promises to be a perfect addition to dozens of other 4th of July celebrations scheduled around the state," said Jeff Tucker, general manager of Idaho Public Television. "If you are in the area, we encourage you to bring your family to this all-ages event. If not, we are excited to be able to bring it to the entire state in a live four-hour broadcast and online via our livestream and the PBS app. It’s one of the many things IdahoPTV is doing to celebrate America250."
