Your support each year directly impacts Idaho Public Television’s mission – to harness the power of public media to encourage lifelong learning, connect communities and enrich lives. Now is the time to help fund the year ahead by making a year-end gift! The following opportunities make it convenient to generously support Idaho Public Television as part of your year-end charitable giving.
If you would like your year-end donation to Idaho Public Television to qualify for a 2023 charitable tax deduction or credit, the IRS requires that contributions are postmarked (if mailed USPS) or date stamped/processed (if using a credit card) by 11:59pm on December 31, 2023. Please consult with your tax advisor.
PLEASE NOTE - The last day for walk-in charitable donations (for 2023 taxes) will be Friday, December 29, 2023.
Ways to Support
IDAHO EDUCATION TAX CREDIT
As a 501c3 non-profit organization and an educational institution under the Idaho State Board of Education. Cash gifts to benefit Idaho Public Television may qualify for the Idaho Education Tax Credit that helps you save more when you give more! You can claim this credit on your Idaho tax form whether or not you itemize deductions. The credit is available to all Idaho taxpayers.
- Tax credits reduce your tax liability dollar for dollar.
- The state tax credit is up to 50% or $1,000 of your donation for married couples ($500 for individuals).
- For example, a couple filing a joint return can claim a credit up to $1,000 on a contribution of $2,000 or more. If their tax liability was $5,000, the credit reduces it to $4,000.
GIFTS OF STOCK

GIFTS FROM YOUR DONOR-ADVISED FUND
When you contribute cash, securities or other assets to establish a donor-advised fund (at organizations like Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or The Idaho Community Foundation) you are generally able to take an immediate tax deduction. You can contribute to your DAF on your own schedule and recommend donations to as many IRS-qualified public charities in the United States, as you choose. The Friends of Idaho Public Television is an IRS-qualified public charitable organization (Federal Tax ID 82-0400218).
IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
If you are at least 70 ½, you can now make tax-free gifts directly from your IRA as a Qualified Charitable Distribution.
If you are at least 70 ½, required minimum distribution (RMD) gifts from your Traditional or ROTH IRA won’t be taxable income, but WILL make a difference! Click here for more information.
